emile davenport hirsch was born on wednesday 13th march, 1985 to david and margaret hirsch in palms california. he honed his acting skills at the hamilton academy of music and the performing arts. he made his television debut when he was just 11 years old in an episode of 'kindred: the embraced', as a dying boy. he went on to have alpha dog guest rolls in other television programs such as '3rd rock from the sun', 'two of a kind' and 'nypd blue'.

he made his feature film debut in 'the dangerous lives of altar boys' starring along side kieran culkin as francis doyle, an exceptional artist whose imaginative forays into a fictional universe of good and evil fill his notebooks with comic-book imagery. soon after he starred in 'the emperor's club', 'the mudge boy' and the more popular 'the girl next door'. he then went on to play tim travis in 'imaginary heroes', jay adams in 'lords of dogtown' and more recently, johnny truelove in 'alpha dog'. the true story based on real life criminal jesse james hollywood.

after filming 'the air i breathe', along side sarah michelle gellar and forest whitaker, emile went on to star in his most critically acclaimed role yet, 'into the wild'. into the wild into the wild is the true story of christopher mccandless, a 24 year old young man who takes off on an adventure through the wilderness of alaska to experience life without the comforts of regular life. emile's performance was so outstanding that it earned him three awards, all for best actor or break through performance by a male actor.

emile has recently finished filming 'speed racer', which he is the protagonist character, speed, and is due to star along side sean penn in 'milk'. the story of of california's first openly gay elected official, harvey milk, a san francisco supervisor who was assassinated along with mayor george moscone by san francisco supervisor dan white.

emile hirsch is on his way to being an extrodinary actor who we can expect exceptional things from. his on screen presence is very powerful and i am positive that we will see more of him in the future.
